2007 Tahoe LTZ = POS

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I purchased a used 2007 Tahoe LTZ that had so many problems in 8 months it was laughable. What a POS vehicle. The 5.3 vortec engine with the AFM has to be one of the worst engine designs ever conceived. It was essentially made to self destruct over saving you any kind of money on fuel. Turning off 4 cylinders and designing a valve cover that allows oil to pool up and foul plugs while building up oil deposits around the cylinder rings? Nice job guys. I ate 10K on this piece of garbage. I will never even consider another GM product in my life. You guys don't stand behind your products, poor designs, and honestly, as a taxpayer we should have let you fail in 2008 if this was the *** you were making at the time.

Never again

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I bought a 2012 GMC Acadia Denali new. It is now 6 years old.

I have changed the oil and had regular maintenance done to the vehicle. I have 93,800 miles. My timing chain went out as well as my struts. GM offered me $250.00 of the $3800.00 to fix the issues.

I was told by 2 local repair shops that my vehicle needs a new engine! Of course the local GM dealership did not agree. But later told me to get rid of it as i will have more issues moving forward. I paid $46,000 for this vehicle.

There are many review on different forums and consumer affairs related to this issue. I have owed a Tahoe and Silverado.

We buy all GMC vehicles for our business. I will NEVER buy another GM vehicle again.

I Have a lemon

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I pretty sure I can prove a case of purchasing a lemon from Chevy. I purchased a New 2014 Chevy Silverado 3500. Ever since I got this vehicle I had nothing but problems. I would get a check engine light on in my vehicle. At first I thought it could be I didn't screw my gas cap on tight enough. But the light stayed on. Then my car went in a low power mode where I could only drive a certain speed. I took it to the shop and I was told nothing was wrong with my vehicle. So they reset the computer, charged me a fee and sent me on my way. I experienced the exact same thing shortly after. A check engine light and reduced power. So I took t back to the dealer and was told that my ECM needed to be changed. This was while my vehicle was still under warranty. But the catch was their were no EMC available and my car sat for a month or more with no sign of the part coming in. That was very odd to not be able to get a part for a car that was manufactured by the same people supposedly fixing my Truck. But when I let the low power mode turned off and I was able to drive it regularly. The part still never came and I had to make a living so I worked my truck. Shortly after that the low power mode kicked in again. Frustrated with The dealer I took it to another shop. I was told by the shop that the truck needed a regen to clean the exhaust filter. That cost me $1,000. It work for a little while then back to low power mode. Paid another $1,000. That seemed to work so I took a work related trip to Reno Nevada. The low power mode kicked in and I was forced to stay in Reno Nevada for a week in a motel spending money I didn't have to get the vehicle fixed. The Chevy dealership worked on my vehicle and I was told I was good to go everything was fixed. After paying another $2,000 only to drive 100 miles and had to turn around and take it back so they could fake fix my truck again. It worked for two months only to have the TCM go bad. I paid $1,000 or so to get the TCM changed. Shortly after that the low power mode kicked in and now that my truck if out of the warranty the dealer is able to find everything that is wrong with my truck and the bill is totaling $4,000. I complained about the bill and HQ offered to pay half of the bill but I haven't been able to work because my truck has been broke more then it's been fixed. I have no money to fix it. It would be less frustrating if I was able to work and put some money up. My truck is only four years old and it shouldn't have these problems. Regular maintenance and oil changes done to this truck. I feel I can prove a lemon law violation and I have contacted the proper lawyers for the job who are reviewing my records now. I hope I can resolve this issue which ever way it goes. Im not complaining about unrelated issues but things that are related to why I bought my truck in in the first place. The check engine light, the reduced power mode, ECM. Not for springs or rear end. But the motor.

General motors sucks!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

So recently i bought a pre owned 2015 chevy Malibu LTZ with only 48 thousand miles. After purchase I only got to drive it oh i don't know about a month before the transmission *** out.

So i took it to the dealership since it was still under powertrain warranty but low and behold!! They can't fix my car since it's a branded title (someone at the DMV made a mistake) and it voids the warranty. So after I go to the trouble of getting my title fixed so it is no longer a branded and they sent me a new one. I go to the dealership and apparently a state issued government piece of paper aka my title is not enough proof that my title is no longer a branded title, now they need a letter from my local DMV saying that they made an error and have fixed it.

Basically they want an apology letter from my DMv saying they messed up. So after the long and arduous process of getting that letter and trust me folks, it was arduous. General motors tells me that it will take 2 weeks for them to process my request to get it thr branded mark removed from their records (Keep in mind that as far as the DMV records go, my title is no longer branded and is brand spanking new) guess how long I've been waiting? 3 month's!!!!!!!

I keep calling GM every week and they keep giving me the run around, sayimg it's the DMVs falt or that they are trying and it should take 2 weeks which is what they told me 3 months ago. Please please Please!! Save yourself the trouble and just buy from a different maker. GM doesn't give a crap about their customers and their cars are garbage.

How is a car under 50,000 miles having transmission issues?? And what should be a simple title issue where i show my new title (again a state issued government paper) to the dealer and have them fix my car, ger dragged out this long???

GUYS DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND DON'T BY GM BRANDS!!!

There's a reason why so few people buy American designed and built cars anymore; they're all garbage and have been for decades. If you want a reasonably priced car that will last forever go for a Honda or Toyota.

Honda and Toyota never built a bad car in their entire history of auto building. GM, Ford and Chrysler have built so many lemons in the past and still do today.

Guest

The rear end of my Camaro went out after just 34,000 miles. GM gave me the run around for 2 weeks before telling me they would do nothing for me because my warranty ran out 4 months ago.

This is a problem that rarely happens in the lifetime of a car without driver fault.

The would not even fix it at cost, they had to profit from me, and charged me as much as they would have charged someone off the street who didn’t buy a new car from them. GM is garbage, never buy one.

Decision on my 2016 Corvette Stingray with 5000 miles on the

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
A decision was made on my 2016 Corvette Stingray with 5000 miles the transmission went out the dealership took it on their own just to rebuild it I requested to have a new one put in because the Corvette was new when I involve the warranty department of General Motors they decided to let them go ahead and rebuild it and telling me the customer one thing and telling the dealership another because it's a new Corvette they said they didn't put in a new transmission because of Corvette is new I've been without a vehicle for almost 3 weeks this is totally unacceptable and this is a woman that is highest person in the department of General Motors in warranty department She insinuated that the service manager of the dealership in Murfreesboro Tennessee convince her that this was the best way to go now I don't know about you but how could this be How could a car dealership tell the warranty department what to do. The senior warranty Department lady Rita put in for a request for a new transmission and it got shot down by the person over her stating that because it's a new Corvette with 5000 miles it's cheaper to rebuild it now it shouldn't take 3 weeks or longer to rebuild a transmission but then again here I am without a vehicle and again I still have 5 years worth of payments on this vehicle buyers beware the warranty ain't worth the paper it's written on. I have been lied to I have been coalhurst I have been made Believe and all again now when I get my vehicle back it will junk

GM transfer cases

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had the transfer case on my 2002 GMC truck replaced 4 years ago and have only driven it 27000 miles and now the transfer case needs to be replaced again. To have a drive train part that was $2500 to need to be replaced after that few miles is ridiculous. GM only warranted this part for 12 months. WTF? I was going to get a new truck and get a GMC but now that’s not going to happen. If they have that poor of a warranty program why would anyone buy one if you were aware of it?

I have a 2015 Chevy Tahoe that is the worse piece of junk that I have owned. At 37000 mile the air conditioning does not work & the radiator is shot. General Motors will only cover 1/2. Six weeks ago my husband ordered a Silverado which we are no longer taking because we are no longer GM customers because any company that can’t stand by the products that they sell is a company that I no longer wish to do business with. Buyer beware think twice before considering this company. I really wish that I knew how bad their products were please take this into consideration before you think about buying a GM product. FAULTY TIRES

General Motors - FAULTY TIRES
General Motors - FAULTY TIRES - Image 2

My name is Sharon DeSousa. My parents own a 2016 Chevy Traverse which is now almost 2 years old and has 31748 miles on it.

All 4 tires are showing visible cracking and dry rot in between the treads and on the sidewalls. After a visit to Kurtis Chevrolet morehead city nc we were told that is was "superficial" and not covered under any warranty. I then contacted GM customer assistance via phone calls and they concurred with the dealership that it was not to be covered. I therefore took it upon myself to contact Goodyear Tire Company by phone.

They sent me to an authorized Goodyear dealer to assess the tires. The gentleman that helped agreed that the tires are visible cracking, dry rotting & that the cracking in the side wall was a major concern. He then contacted Goodyear on my behalf to determine if they would replace or prorate the tires. They determined that they would but at a cost of $639.52.

I then contacted Goodyear again and got them to agree to $93.00 per tire. Which is going to cost $428.00 with mounting & balancing. My major concern and complaint with Chevrolet is that they offered no help with this issue. It is a safety issue and they did not seem concerned at all.

I am attaching some photos of the tires which you can easily see the cracking. I hope that someone takes my complaint seriously and reaches out to rectify the situation.

Major Oil Consumption

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My 2013 Chevy Equinox was taken to a Chevy dealer for stalling with oil consumption between 40,000-50,000 miles. A part was fixed at no cost due to warranty. Oil consumption continued for a year during which time the warranty expired. At 80,000 I had around 2,000 miles left before the next oil change. I took it to a shop because my motor was noisy. He said I had LESS THAN 1 QUART of oil. He performed an oil change and advised me to contact GM. GM had me take it back in, get another oil change (my expense), and begin oil consumption testing at every 1000 miles. After speaking to GM they advised it's out of warranty, however, may be able to HELP with the bill. No one should ever have to spend $20,000 for a vehicle, have oil consumption begin around 40,000 miles, not have it completely fixed, and then still have problems at the owner's expense even after a warranty ended. GM should be handling the entire bill since it was reported before the warranty expired. Will NEVER purchase another GM product since they cannot stand behind what they make!

GM doesnt honor their warranties

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Do not buy a GM car. They do not honor their warranties. (trying to make this review as least emotional as possible as we are devastated with a broken car) We bought a 2012 Chevy equinox which started experiencing engine problems and high oil consumption right around 80,000 miles. Soon after we started experiencing the problem we received a letter in the mail stating that if we had high oil consumption it was likely due to piston ring wear. GM stated in their letter that the piston rings would need to be replaced and the cost was covered by GM. We performed the oil consumption test, which costed us money out of pocket, to find out that the Equinox was losing oil faster than normal and was most likely due to the piston ring problem. The dealership said GM would cover and to bring the vehicle in. We drop the car off at the dealership and were offered a rental. They didn’t have the kind of vehicle we needed but we accepted it anyway because a vehicle is better than no vehicle. GM states that they needed to order the parts and would be coming from Michigan and LA so would take a couple days to get there. The parts get here after a while and then all of a sudden we get a call from the Midway Chevrolet on Bell Rd in Phoenix stating that the repair would not be covered due to engine sludge. They stated that the engine sludge was due to poor oil maintenance. We looked up the most common causes of engine sludge (15 different websites) and oil maintenance was one of them but we also found that engine sludge can also be caused by worn piston rings, which is the exact reason for the letter GM sent. We told the dealership that we have our own oil maintenance records and had actually been getting all of our scheduled oil changes at the same dealership we bought the car at (we never missed one). The dealership then stated because the previous driver that didn’t get regular oil changes. We asked them how they knew that the lack of oil maintenance originally created the problem and not the piston ring problem. They didn’t have an answer for that. They literally had the entire engine disassembled waiting for the parts from LA and Michigan and once they found out it wasn’t covered, told us that they wouldn’t put the new piston rings in, even though they are known to be bad. But, since they think it was lack of oil maintenance, they didn’t put the rings in and said they were putting the engine back together. We can’t believe that GM would send us out on the road knowing we have bad piston rings. The bad piston rings were the whole reason for the letter. Why would you not repair something you know is a bad product? Regardless if there was engine sludge or not, GM should at least repair the piston rings as stated in their letter. We are still within the 7 years or 120,000 mile warranty and have plenty of time before it runs out. We will be posting this review everywhere we can find until this matter is resolved. Thank you for reading and hopefully you don’t end up in the same situation as us. 3/23/2018

The Nelson Family (231) 750-**** contact number. My husband and I purchased two vehicles on the same day on 11/16/2015 at GM Betten Cadillac.

We purchased a 2009 YUKON and a 2013 Cadillac XTS (Platinum Series), when the Cadillac was purchased it had a little of 50,000 miles on it, with a warranty only good to 70,000 so I did not have many miles left before the warranty would end. The CAR FAX indicated no issues with the car. However, I learned that the car was not the original color (verified by two professionals) in which I was informed by a professional that the roof of the car had been damaged and the roof of the car had been painted (non of which was in the CAR FAX), another issue I have not had the car but only 2 years, and soon as I drove the car off the lot it gave me many issues. Number one I had to go buy new tires shortly after the car was purchased due to the steering wheel shaking so badly, learned the tires needed to be replaced.

I also learned that all 4 rims were bent (Unresolved issue) on the car also. I also had to buy a new battery shortly after the purchase of the car. After me and my husband buying two vehicles from the same company on the same day (which was about a 1 to 2 day process) BOTH vehicles should have at least came with a good battery and tires. As a result we BOTH had to go out and get a GOODYEAR credit cards in order to get new tires that I did not believe I should have had to do this soon as well as new batteries.

The rims remain bent until this date on the Cadillac. My husband who also purchased a YUKON 2009 also had to buy a new battery . The (LED LIGHT) went out also on the Cadillac. The LED light is expected to last for years, but it did not.

(Unresolved). I drove the Cadillac down to Louisiana a year after the purchase of the car, and the screen on the dash went out for hours, I was many miles away from home (Michigan to Louisiana), and could not even see how much gas that I had in the car. (Scary event). I traded in a 300 HEMI Chrysler 300 rear wheel drive, good car, sad I traded it in for a vehicle that was an even MORE expensive one, but has given me the greatest head ache.

I only got rid of the 300 because it was rear wheel drive and in the winter they are not easy to drive so as a result I decided to get the AWD 2013 Cadillac. I have not and still do not feel comfortable with this car. My husband talked to former salesperson to try to test drive another car. The sales man comment was; " YOU wanna tease yourself huh?" So as a result we did not test drive.

It was what I consider to be a slap in the face. We are upside down in this car, and it will take about $16,000.00 to get out of this car. It is not a good feeling knowing you are paying so much for a vehicle and not have a sense of comfort with it. We notified our salesman person (shortly after the purchase of the vehicles) concerning the tires and all he did was refer us to a tire company who he claimed would give us a deal, in which we paid just about the same as any other place.

I am still paying off the balance on this credit card, and so is my husband. The side detection sensors (both right and left) on the Cadillac also (Unresolved) went out shortly after the transmission was repaired. In fact the Cadillac has given me all kinds of issues since the purchase, and it is so sad because once my husband and I signed on the dotted line (we were not cared about after the sell), which is sad because our former salesman recieved a great commission after selling two cars on the same day (same family), seems like we would have been appreciated, but instead we only got an attitude. For example when I had issues with the transmission, once the former salesperson realized that I got a deal from about $3,000 down to about $800.00 for the repair, his comment was: Why do I have an attitude now after such a great deal" well number one I had not had the car very long to have experienced such a big issue, so why would I have a good attitude because far as I am concerned I should not have had to even pay the $800.00 on top of a big car payment every month.

Now a car will have issues, and I understand that, but this car has and does have many issues since I drove it off the lot.

I really would like to get out of this vehicle and get into something nice that the bank would finance and not something that will be more than what I am paying now which is $560.00 per month which is high enough. I would like to go on a vacation with my kids and spouse having a sense of comfort.

Stuck with an unsafe vehicle

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We purchased a new 2017 truck from Jim Trenary Chevy. The truck has a vibration problem at 25 mph and between 60-70 mph.

It also has a constant howling noise. Which is louder than ever, since Jason Evers the Service Manager has been involved. The service manager is extemely disrespectful and unprofessional. He insulted my husband and the company he works for, while on a test drive.

He admitted to the truck having a problem. He talks out both ends of his a#@! He misleads the customers and tells the boss what he wants to hear. This is acceptable to have an unsatisfied customer to Jim Trenary.

The dealership has extremely high turnover with Service Managers, Kyle Trenary is the overall manager and is more concerned about spending money to fix a vehicle than the safety of his customers. I will not drive in this vehicle, I do not feel safe. GM has compared this truck with other trucks on the lot and admitted there is a problem, but it is however, acceptable because the other trucks do the same thing, howl and shake. GM is aware of the problem, but does not feel the need to fix it.

Is it going to take a serious injury to happen before they fix this issue. GM has not offered the to purchase the vehicle back. The St. Charles, MO GM Rep is completely okay with having a disastisified customer and so is Jim Trenary.

We believe the problem resided in the transmission, but they refuse to look into that. Kyle Trenary hismelf told me that would cost them too much money and if GM does not tell them to look into and pay them for that, they do not do it! All I can say is WOW! When speaking with Jessica at GM at ext.

592****, she refused to give me her bosses extention number. She alleged her bosses name is Marta, but put me on hold and I was never connected. She also told me she stands behind the dealership and they said the other trucks they test drove, have the same problem, so it is then not a problem. When I questioned her admitting there was infact a problem, she became silent.

Extremely unsatisfied and disgusted.

GM has put a forever bad taste in my mouth, and I can gurantee I will never own a GM vehicle personally. My husband loves his Chevy's, but after this experience and nightmare, I think I can turn him the other way, FORD!
