I bought my 2010 Equinox LTZ used and paid $20,000 (financed) of course, I have had it four month with no problems up until Friday the 13th, 2013 (figures right), it started with me pressing the gas and it would barely go 20 mph is the most I could go, I had a engine light that said engine power is reduced, I made it to a small garage, I was told the battery needed to be replaced, when they put the new battery in it would not start, nothing, so I was told if I could get the car out of his garage, so I waited a few minutes after they put my new battery back in it started, I had to call my husband who was at work to follow me to the GM Dealership while he was behind me the same thing again, would not go over 20 mph (engine power is reduced) so I finally got off of the road called the tow truck $50.00 they towed to GM Dealership who said I needed a new battery $227.00, they had to save the memory, flash the car $46.00 (labor), and it worked for about two days, same thing Monday 12/18/2013 (engine power reduced, service stabill track), called the tow truck another $50.00, now they are saying I need a throttle which is gonna cost me another $400.65, I am very aggravated especially it being Christmas time, we work hard for our money to pay our bills and when you pay $20,000 for a vehicle you expect to have some problems but this is ridiculous, I just hope this isn't a sign of things to come. When I called the dealership where I purchased the car they transferred me to a lady that looked up my information and she giggled and laughed (bet you wish you'd got the extended warranty now) I said I cant believe you just laughed in my face, GM should stand behind there product there shouldn't be a need for an extended warranty, to me $20,000 is high for a used car, but I paid it and I will never pay it again nor will I ever own another GM vehicle,

Monetary Loss: $800.

I have a 2011 Equinox and have been having these same problems sporadically for around a year. I have heard that this is caused by corrosion in a wire harness or that there is an issue with the timing belt. So far the dealership has not been able to provide a long term solution, the longest a fix has worked is 9 months before it acts up again.
