A follow up to my problem with my 2021 HTC Corvette! Living in Indiana has not allowed me to put the top down on my convertible.

When I did put it down a few times it made a "clunking" sound when it closed. I put the top down on April 16th and the the top "crashed again" just like it did in December. I drove the car back to the dealer on 4-19. I had to either have the top down or I am limited to 58MPH because of a warning saying top not secure.

The service manager says he needs a GM engineer because he has no idea how to fix it. GM customer service opened another case! I offered to drive the car 5 hours back to Bowling Green and have someone there repair or replace the parts. I am beginning to think I have a lemon!

District rep is supposed to get involved but he was also supposed to be involved back in Jan and that either didn't happen.

30 days in the shop as of 4-22 and 3 trips to dealer with no answer! $97 car and GM doesn't seem to care!!

After much argument GM offered more money for โ€œfuture service maintenance workโ€ I have asked GM service people and the dealer to explain why the top would not close at 42 degrees? Manual says it will open at โ€œaboutโ€ 32 degrees and close at โ€œabout 17 degreesโ€.

The dealer was Sutton check on it about 3 weeks ago with his district rep. Havenโ€™t heard a word. Manual says if it is too cold you will get a warning telling you to move to warmer area. This didnโ€™t happen!

What temperature can I open my top and expect it to close? Is all this a direct result of the screwdriver doing more damage?

I just want my HTC to perform as it is supposed to!! That must be too much to ask form GM my $97k.

I ordered a 2020 HTC in December 2019. I had to reorder a 2021 in July.

I took delivery of my 2021 Z51 HTC on 12-26-20. On 12-27 the top would not close. It worked at the dealer on the 26th. I took the car back to the dealer on 12-28.

They ordered a part and when they attempted to repair the top they found someone at the assembly plant left a 3' long screwdriver in the top close to the latch! It damaged the strike plate and I am not sure what else. They had to order more parts. The top would not align last week and now they are waiting on more parts.

The dealer says they are dealing with GM. GM customer service has called me and emailed and recognized my frustration! $98,580 out the door price and car was in the shop 22 days. I got it back and the first time I put the top down it will not go back up!

The dealer sent a flatbed wrecker to haul the car back to the dealer. Gm customer service offered me a $100 certificate for my trouble!

I have driven an extra 200 miles trying to get this fixed not to mention my stress and time. I am retired 67 year old and this is my first corvette.
