GM is definitely developing Bad Reputation with existing owners of their products. There appears to be No Concern about retaining the customer base. The dealer appears to have a worse concern about retaining the customer based on the treatment we are receiving. This...

General Motors in Pompano Beach, Florida - 2008 Chevy Equinox 72,000 Miles

I purchased a Chevy Equinox on 11-24-2008, 72,000 miles. At the time of purchase the salesman and myself took a test drive. Everything seemed to be working fine except I noticed the temperature gauge was stuck at the 12:00 o'clock position indicating a severe overheating condition. The salesman took the car to the mechanics at the dealer and finally came back with the vehicle we then proceeded with the test- drive, everything else: doors, locks, a/c, steering appeared to be functioning properly. The salesman advised me to drive the vehicle for a week and make a list of the things I found wrong then bring the vehicle back to service and he would make sure everything would be taken care of . I returned the vehicle with a list of problems that occurred including the same temperature gauge issue. They had the car for a week when I went back to pick up the vehicle I was presented with a list of repairs found while the service department had my car. The service department ran the GM Multi-Point Inspection after the car was brought back in for the repairs they had promised to take care of. - Door Locks and Interior Handles RR & RF, stopped working during the week I drove it. "$ 659.18" - Temperature gauge showing overheating as it was before " A condition they already had agreed to repair. Had to pay: $106.??" Which should not have had to pay a dime. NOT REPAIRED ! - A noise developed when turning the steering wheel, again this was not evident at the time of the test drive. "$ 466.50" - Engine vibration: "Spark Plugs: "$ 344.68" - Vibration at 40-70 mph: Balance 4 - Tires: "$ 59.99" - Lower Control Arms: " $ 965.10" Contacted GM Corporate Consumer Affairs: They consulted with the dealership and determined they could do nothing - Thanks GM maybe threatening to Pull the Dealers Contract with you, might have worked. Worst experience, as my son is a first-time buyer. Nice Scam *Took vehicle back to dealer 01-08-2016, as the transmission is slipping, now they want another $ 500.00 dollars for diagnostic the car is still at the dealer as I don't have it until I get paid. NOTE: THE ONLY THING THAT QUALIFIES AS PRE-EXISTING CONDITION IS THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS & THE TEMPERATURE GUAGE ISSUE WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE REAPIRED AS AGREED.

Chevrolet Tracker Review

Update on Tracker crossmember. GM was no help what so ever. Paid out of pocket to have it done. My friend however repaired it for me. It was hanging by half inch of metal. I am surprised it did not snap off. Sent an email to GM, basically, calling them worthless sheisters. No reply of course.

your Traverse has a special coverage policy on the steering for 10 years or 150,000 miles, the document number is 14329B.

The Malibu has a issue where sealer needs to be applied , the document number is 09-01-37-002E. It is not covered , but it appears to be a fairly easy repair, the only parts used are some clear sealant and the labor to do the repair takes approx a half hour. Not sure what you mean by your traction control and ESC problem, is there lights on the dash or do the functions not work?

General Motors in Austin, Texas - 1998 olds intrigue

bought new October 1997. Paid off October 2002. Reduced insurance coverage from full to liability. Driving to Austin (I lived 23 miles from town) to work car caught fire under hood while driving 55 mph had another motorist flag me down to tell me I was on fire. He had already called fire dept as they arrived on scene in two minutes to foam fire out. They were gone 5 minutes later as I found myself standing there bewildered on the side of the road with a total waste of 21,000 dollars smoldering away. Subsequently, without wheels, I lost everything including my home on 4.7 acres and everything in it. It would have been paid off in 3.5 years. Nothing but depression and homelessness ever since. Thanks GM for the recall notice 8 years later you sent to my moms house. I was somebody for years til I trusted y'all and your product. In 5 minutes my life burned away before my eyes. Tell me again about the American Dream.

wow, I would contact a attorney. There was a recall for a engine fire.

Not sure what could be done but I would try.

Surely a attorney would take the case with the stipulation that they only get paid if you win. So sorry to hear about your loss

General Motors - 2009 Chevrolet Traverse Review from Zilwaukee, Michigan

I am appalled by the customer service I recieved from GM and the dealership I've taken my 09 traverse to. I have had 4/5 special coverage issues including losing gears in my transmission (had to have trans rebuilt), power steering went out (had to replace pump, also a new issue with rack and pinion), water pump leaked (replaced) and just had issues with the timing chasing (had to have it along with other parts replaced). Normally I'm not one to complain, but my recent experience has been absolutely horrible. I took my vehicle to a gm dealership to be serviced for the timing chain (most recent issue) and it took a week. No biggie. Get it back and my hood support (holds hood up) was missing and had a new noise at start up that sounds horrible. Take it back to the dealer and it was apparently fixed and after arguing back and forth they replaced my missing hood support. Next morning start it again (issue is only noticeable on first start up) issue is STILL THERE. Call again and am told it's normal. No it's not. Have to go in for the third time because they screwed something up and don't want to look hard enough. Also forgot to recharge my ac. Contacted customer service to make them aware of all the issues and also got the run around. Will be selling my GM LEMON and will be buying a Ford. Also, on top of the million and one issues I've had, I also have a larger oil leak they refuse to fix. Not a happy customer.

If I were you I would contact GM at the number in your owners manual. I know from experience that GM will tell a dealer no when they ask for assistance for a customer but will sometimes bend when the customer contacts them directly.

If you get nowhere with GM ask to meet with the GM district service manager for your dealer. These people work for GM and are extremely overworked, they will sometimes pay a bill just because they do not have time to check it out .

I have worked for GM dealers for many years. Dealerships are franchised, like Burger King, and we can only do so much.

General Motors in Baytown, Texas - Purchase of new truck

5.0
Details
purchased a new chevy silverado Z71 Southern comfort Black Widow from Tooran Foley in Mississippi.Purchased the extended warranty as well. Was told that the truck also came with a 2 yr,free oil change and tire rotation. Was also told GM would honor service and warranties anywhere in US. Well got to Ron Craft in Baytown Texas , for my first oil change and tire rotation and and find out that not the case. It would have been the case if i purchased the truck there tho. This is my first Chevy and my 7th new puchase. all others have been fords were i have always got dependable service and no problems from there trucks. Got a feeling im gona regret this purchase already. Should have bought the Ford Raptor instead.
