General Motors in Charleston, South Carolina - Getting help with this recall is a waste!

1.0
Details
My key gets stuck in my ignition and I went to the Rick Hendrick dealership in Charleston, SC to see if there was a recall, I was told no but I looked it up before I left and I showed it to them. The service manager was rude and was trying to tell me that it is my fault because I have too many keys weighing my ignition down. I only have 2 keys on my key ring and my key pad there is no way possible that is the truth. So a few weeks later I get the letter in the mail, I called back to make an appointment and one of the service advisors Melvina, was telling me she did not know how she could help but she would transfer me, so she transfer me to another service advisor and he was just rude and disrespectful and started yelling at me and telling me that there is nothing he can do and that I have to wait 3 days before they would try and get it in. There was no remorse or anything. So I called the recall center and I was sent to the Mt . Pleasant Chevrolet dealer but I have to wait once again. This is ridiculous, I have never put out so much money in a car. I pay more to get the car fix then I am able to afford to pay my car payment. I have spent over 3000 to get this car fix within the last year this is ridiculous. Especially since I had to pay for my car to get fix last year and then you decide to do a recall on the reduced power and traction control. I feel as a company of your worth you should compensate your customers, otherwise you will have major lawsuits. I hate to say this but this is the path I am going to take if I do not get help with this Chevrolet Impala.

General Motors in Charleston, South Carolina - My car has been affected by the recall

on the 3rd of july I contacted general motors about my bad experiences that I was having such as the power steering, and when I'm driving my car will pull to another direction from where I was going, I was told that it was nothing that could be done but carry it over to the dealer, so I proceeded when I got contacted them they were talking about I would have to pay for what ever is wrong with the car and I refused to,now I received a letter in august of 2014 about a recall on my chevy impala with all the same issues that I was complaining about so I contacted gmc again with this issue,so I was sent over to rick Hendricks Chevrolet in Charleston s.c,i was told that they would pay for a rental for one day so my question to rick hendrick employee was first off hand the part is not in and no telling when it will be available 2nd off they contacted me and told me on two occasions that I was able to get the rental but this was the catch I needed to leave my credit card info so that they could put a hold of 100.00 on my card until the car is returned....my replied was nope because if rick Hendricks are general motors is paying why in the heck do I need my credit card info and 100.00 to be token from my acct,so now I missed 4days of work and no rental car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! general motors sucks and the do not stand by their customer like they say and I'm pretty sure they have thousands and thousands of cars that could become a loaner car for a customer and they makes plenty of money so why could they not pay for a rental for me and my four kids I do not know.

General Motors in Schaumburg, Illinois - Just purchase a 2007 Pontiac G6 convertible

Drove home this car after I just purchased it and then it started making a loud whistling type of noise. I brought it back to the Toyota dealer that I purchased it from and they had 2 places that specialize in exhaust and they said that the flex pipe on these cars makes this noise and it cannot be fixed since it is common on the Pontiac model and even if it got replaced by another GM flex pipe - there is no guarantee that this noise will go away since it is the product and the way it is made. This noise is very annoying and I feel that I should have been aware of this issue before hand. I am stuck with it now since I bought it. This will be the last GM car I ever buy since I have not had a single good experience with them.

Sorry for your inconvenience. This is a shame that this has happened to you.

First of all, one of the things you have to remember is that it is a used vehicle. Secondly, Toyota doesn't make nor sell GM vehicles. Don't discount GM when you are buying a used vehicle from a competitor. They are not trained to work on GM cars, unless the Toyota dealership owns a GM dealership as well.

My advice is to take the car to a GM dealership.

It may have got missed on a recall list.

General Motors in Fort Wayne, Indiana - My Chevy Cruze windshield broke when I smacked a fly!

I own a 2011 Chevy Cruze. I was driving down the road and a fly that was annoying me landed on the windshield. I smacked the interior top left side of the windshield. It immediatly cracked leaving a center circle and numerous webs of six or more inches, one extending past the rearview mirror. I am dumbfounded, at a complete loss of how it is possible to smack your windshield and have this happen. This was not enough force to break a regular window let alone a car windshield. On top of this I have a five hundred dollar deductible. Do NOT touch your windshield if you drive a Cruze!!

General Motors - Absolutely Horrible Customer Service

We are the owners of a GMC Suburban that has a malfunctioning air bag module. The replacement part is listed as "unavailable." Dealerships are able to place an order the part, but there is absolutely no estimated time of arrival. I called GMC Corporate because I feel it is their responsibility to make sure parts are available for the dealerships to order. Further, a non-functioning air bag module presents a safety issue. I have had numerous conversations over the last six plus weeks with GMC's Customer Assistance department and each time, they pass the buck to the dealership. The dealership I am working with has done all they can. I have asked for an email address for the person in charge of GMC's Customer Assistance department and was told by the Customer Assistance agent that they are not allowed to give it out. I also sent an email through the website and only received an automated reply. GMC Corporate is not only passing the buck back to the dealership, but they are hiding from being open and honest by not making themselves accessible to the public. Take a look at their website and you will see what I mean. The "Contact Us" link only gets you an automated reply.

General Motors in Detroit, Michigan - 2013 Chevy Malibu not repairable and GM not willing to do anything to help

Update by user Aug 25, 2014

Losses is $27,000 since the car is not what I thought I was investing in.

Original review posted by user Aug 25, 2014

My 2013 Chevy Malibu has 26.6K miles on it and has a noise that can not be identified by the service dept or GM and GM refuses to assist me with help in getting another vehicle that is in working order. Since the dealer service dept could not identify the noise after 3.5 weeks, they had a GM engineer come in to review and fix, and instead of fixing a noise that they can't identify, nor repair, they REDUCE the noise by 90%, not fixed it. You can't fix what you don't know and they were never able to isolate the issue. If I take the car back for the same issue, there is nothing they can do about it because they don't know what the noise is and have exhausted all remedies to fix 100%, only reducing the noise by 90% is the only fix. I bought the car thinking it would be working 100% of the time, and now I have a 90% reduced noise vehicle that GM has deemed safe to drive, although they don't know what the issue was that is causing the noise. I worked with the dealer, who asked GM to assist with incentive monies to get out of my car and get a car that works and has no noise 100% of the time. GM refused stating it's under warranty and that should cover it. How can it cover it, when no one knows what the "it" is and I still hear the noise, only muffled to 10% of the time. GM is not treating me fairly as a consumer, especially in light of the issues they are currently experiencing with other vehicles. Who's to say that the unidentified noise does not turn into a future recall issue and is a safety issue? How can they deem something safe when they can't identify what "it" is? What happens when my warranty is up and God forbid it's something major that I could have avoided, just by GM assisting me. GM...pls advise. You would not want your mother to drive a car that has issues that you can't identify, so why wouldn't you care enough about your long-standing customers and do what is right? With my car being a 2013 I owe a lot on it and incentives would assist me. After all, it was not my intent to go car shopping so soon after purchasing my vehicle, only a year later, because you failed to sell me what your site advertises as a safe and reliable vehicle.

General Motors - Gmc Acadia Transmission Review

First I'll start off by saying that my whole family has always driven GM. Always been trusted in the name, well I'm sorry to say not anymore. If GM would stand up and admit that the Acadia has numerous problems and have recalls to pay for the ridiculously expensive problems it would be a different story. I bought a used 2007 GMC Acadia SLT2 with around 72000 miles. Within a week the stabilitrac light came on for no apparent reason. Wasn't long the battery left me stranded with no warning that it was going bad. Had to replace a purge valve solenoid at around $300 a few months later. Around 90000 miles had to buy a brand new transmission at $4200 and was told that the transmission being taken out wasn't the original transmission (so that tells me that the previous owner had the transmission replaced once already, under 72000 miles). Another solenoid under the hood had to be replaced. Also at random times there is no sound from the stereo system, turning signals or back up beeper. The heat in the seats works at random which is very aggravating. The headlight has been so hot at one point in time that is has melted the whole headlight assembly. The Service Air Bag light is on. It's now In the shop costing me another $400 for a vent valve solenoid. I took it in because my engine light was on and my transmission wasn't wanting to shift right. It was going over 3000 rpms as I was traveling down the interstate and if I would wiggle the shifter back and forth the transmission would shift. But the tach was going all over the place at times. I'm so frustrated about what to do about another vehicle because I have so much money tied up in this acadia that I will never be able to sell it and get half my money back. I've read so many bad reviews from customers with the same complaints and problems with the Acadia that I have that there's no reason GM shouldn't be recalling these vehicles and paying the price. Everybody talks about buying American made products and I'm all for it but not if the product is junk.
