General Motors in Akron, Ohio - Car seat caught on fire, totaled the car.

GM is having no mercy on a car I had planned on having paid off in another 18 months. Since it was totaled GM wants to give me 16,000 towards a new car. I still owe 14,000 and paid 18,000. This is not a problem I myself caused, it was neglect on GM, a faulty motor in the seat, now I have to suck it up and buy a new car for $2,000. They say I drove it for 2 years. I said I planned on having it for a lot more years to come after I pay it off. GM does not stand behind their product. I have to start all over when I was going to be done paying for it. Had I got injured I would of come out great, no wonder people have to be dishonest. I also lost the extended warranty that existed.

General Motors in Morgantown, West Virginia - NO SPARE TIRE

You would think when bying a new car it would come with a spare tire....but not my 2013 Chevy Malibu. To make things worse on July 8, 2014 I had a flat with 3 children in the car along the interstate!! Anyone who has kids knows that you cant keep them entertained very long especially in the back seat of a car. So I had to leave my car and pay someone to put a tire on it that costs $200 that I didn't have at the time to get me back on the road. I called GM and they more or less blowed me off saying it was a cost cutting thing, well I'm here to tell you your cost cutting thing just cost me another $200 on Aug. 10, 2014 because you cant put a spare in the car. If I could I would get rid of this car and never buy another GM product again because of the response I received from your people. I'm sure reimbursing me for the tire would have broke your company and thats all I ask for. I know I'm just one consumer but I hope many people read this and take heed to my warning because you don't take of your customers like you promise to do and I'm living proof!!!

General Motors - What DIDN'T happen??!!!!

There are 9 current recalls listed on Motor Trend's Internet site, 8 which happened after March 31, 2014. GM is busy mailing out recalls for these problems, for which they have no parts, but currently I have only received 2 of the recall notices. The A/C works intermittently, but during this current Texas heatwave with temps exceeding 100 degrees, it is not working. The driver's side low beam headlight has been changed 3 times, but the dealership reports the problem is a short within the receptacle which holds the bulb. Since when is wiring a maintenance problem, but recall 103662 dated May 14, 2014 is for electrical system wiring. The driver's side rear door can only be opened manually. The tire monitor warning light stays on constantly. The engine temperature gauge works intermittently. The check engine light goes on and off. I wrote GM and was instructed to take the car to Frank Kent Cadillac for diagnostics. Frank Kent Cadillac identified the the various problems and informed me the repairs would cost about $4000 for which they were willing to discount services 10%. When GM contacted me, I asked them how they were going to assist in the matter and was told they would partner with the dealership. In other words, GM was not willing to do anything. I came home and did some research on the Internet and discovered that all these electrical problems may be related and caused by BCM connectivity issues. I have not yet priced what that repair may cost, but I hardly doubt it will cost $4000. I checked car values on the Internet and this car is only worth between $4K and $10K. An insurance company would total a car costing this much to repair. I have owned this car since it was new. It is a 2008 Pontiac G6 with less than 62K miles. I have been a loyal GM owner for more than 40 years and during that time have only owned one other vehicle brand. The problems experienced are not normal maintenance problems but are instead a result of short cuts and use of cheap/faulty parts .

I am having the same issue with my 2009 Pontiac G6 left low beam headlight. Has been replaced 2 times.

Today when we checked it because it is out a 3 rd time, the wiring was smoking so we have unplugged it. I only have 61000 miles on my car. My steering wheel makes a funny noise. But when I took it to the dealship we are being told this is not under recall but I am under recall BCM.

And I or my grandchildren suppose to die before this is addressed? I have just about had enough.

I am scared to drive my car. What do I do now?

General Motors - Faulty power steering system

I purchased a brand new Chevrolet Captiva 2010 in Egypt, after a couple of years I changed the steering box during the warranty period. The same thing is happening again, same sound same malfunction in power steering and the service dealer requested the change of the complete power steering system for a little over $1'500 When I sent a complaint to General Motors egypt I received a call from the dealer not from GM and they did not solve anything till now since the 4th of July. This is a serious issue and might cause serious injuries also the company responding through the local dealer is totally unacceptable me unproffesional.

General Motors in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland And Labrador - Dealership said fuel pump was gone and would not replace under warrenty when the pump actually worked fine

I have a 2011 GMC Sierra 4.8 which broke down on the side of the road almost 4 months ago. After having the truck towed to the dealership they said the fuel pump was gone due to contaminated fuel (water) and gave me a quote of $1100 saying warranty will not cover it. My side axle seals were also leaking so asked that they replace those in the mean time. It took 3 weeks of waiting before they had my axle seals done. I then contacted GM customer care trying to get my fuel pump changed under warranty knowing myself that water would not cause the pump to fail, I waited another week waiting for customer care to get a response to me but they would not return my calls. After waiting a moth without a vehicle to use I had enough and towed the truck to my place of work to repair myself. After doing a pressure test on the pump I saw that it was working fine, I pumped what little water was in my tank out, cleaned out the fuel rails and problem solved, truck is now working fine. I was always a Chev fan growing up but this experience not only turned my from my dealership but also the GM brand, I am now in the process for trading my GMC in on a Nissan.

General Motors in San Jose, California - Right axle shaft Recall

I own 2014 Chevrolet Cruze that is part of right axle shaft recall. It has been a month since part has been ordered through GM and so far absolutely nothing has been by GM to ship necessary part to dealership for replacement. Every time I call GM Customer Service Department, they are not willing to help and don't provide any answers at all. All they do is point their finger at someone and claim that they don't what's going. That is unacceptable. I am very disappointed at the level of service I am provided by GM and would like a resolution 'yesterday' on this issue.

General Motors - Chevrolet Impala Review from Louisville, Kentucky

I had a 2007 hhr I started having many issues with it so thinking it was just that type of car. So I traded it in and bought a Chevy impaled 2012 now after 6 months I am having trouble with it. I went out today to go to my grandsons birthday party and it would not start. I would think if a car that is just a couple of years old would not have an issue already. I bought an American made car all my life and the last couple of times it has been a chevy. I have only had this car six months and was counting on it to be dependable but I was wrong so this will be my last American made I will ever buy let alone a chevy.

General Motors - Car Review from Houston, Texas

My car was dropped off In April for a recall. I have a rental from April up until now. Last week I get a call from the dealership (Classic) that my car was ready over a month ago and that I would have to foot the rental car bill. Astonished, I feverishly began trying to resolve the issue. I have a mother diagnosed with stage 4 grade 3 cancer and this nonsense with the rental car is something that I can not afford considering my mother's medical bills are lofty. I called the Customer Specialist number followed by the CEM. Unlike promised, the CEM did not call me within the 48 hour window. I had to call him. I have yet to have this resolved. GM placed the blame of Enterprise. Enterprise has no dealings. Honestly GM has two phone numbers and an address on record. There were multiple numbers to get in contact with. I tracked the phone numbers and there were two calls made by the dealership. This is beyond ridiculous. Consumers have already lost faith in the GM brand , now poor customer service diminishes the brand integrity beyond repair.
