Verified ReviewerInabililty/Unwillingness to fix a warranteed part for over a year.
I have driven Chevrolet products for as long as I can remember, but Chevrolet's lack of attention to my problem has led me to look elsewhere in the future. I have a 2022 Silverado.
In November 2022, I had to pull a trailer and used the backup camera feature to hook on to the hitch. Upon switching my camera back to regular mode, the view pointed to the driver side bumper, and I am unable to see the left third of my bumper. This is a major safety concern to me. I had it in to have it looked at in November 2022 I believe.
Initially, the service technician told me there was nothing wrong with it. After showing them again, they finally admitted that it wasn't right. The story I received was that it was a known issue, and they were waiting on GM engineers to give them further instruction. Weeks went by with no response.
I then called Chevrolet customer service. They were going to look into it and get back to me. After a few weeks, I called again, and they had closed the case without fixing my problem. I opened another case, and they had me take the truck in for a second time.
After replacing the camera, the issue of the field of view is still unresolved. I was told AGAIN to wait to hear from the engineers. At this point, it had been nearly 10 months with a back-up camera that didn't work. I finally called the GM of the dealership, and he told me to bring the truck in and they would give me loaner until they got it fixed.
That was the third or fourth week of October. I was then called that they had my part in that I needed to schedule an appointment to bring my truck in. I had to break it to the girl at the service department that my truck had been sitting in their lot for a month. That was 2 weeks ago and finally I called today and the issue still isn't resolved.
Chevrolet keeps trying to put a new camera into the truck and it fixes nothing. I believe that the fix is in the dash computer and its expensive to fix and Chevrolet is trying to avoid an expensive fix and hope I will just give up. This is unacceptable. My issue has been going on for over a year now with no end in sight.
I work in a customer service profession and have been more than patient. I am finished with that. That camera was part of an expensive package that was paid for when I bought my truck and it hasn't worked for around 30K miles of the life of my truck. I also paid extra for a 100K extended warrantee.
If GM is unable to fix a product that I paid for, I expect to be refunded for the package that I was required to buy to include the camera. All the while, despite the pages and pages of documentation about my issue, I haven't received a single contact from GM with an apology or to try to address my issue. Any attention to this issue, which has gotten me nowhere, had been due to my efforts. I expect a call back to resolve my issue immediately!
If I don't hear anything within 24 hours, I will call again. I will leave messages on every Facebook Instagram, YouTube, Twitter page I can find to be sure all potential future customers are aware of what they are getting into. This matter couldn't have been handled any worse. I believe that GM wants me to just go away so they can save the expense of the repair they are responsible to fix.
My family and I have been lifelong Chevrolet customers. I am currently leasing a Tahoe as well.
This is my fourth GM truck and look how I am being treated for my loyalty. I paid over 58K for this vehicle and I expect someone to make it right, but so far, my loyalty hasn't been of much concern.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. The associate I had an issue with called me and we both agreed that we were both out of line. Les Stanford dealership handled this with class and I regret leaving the negative review.

I bought a brand new 2022 GMC Acadia. I bought it new because I commute 80 miles round trip everyday for work.
I drove it for 4 months and was on my way home and it slowed down by 20 mph and my screen said "engine power reduction". I still had 30 miles left to get home so I turned around and went straight to the dealer.
They checked it out and told me they cleared the code and it should be ok to drive. I headed home and it did it again about 5 miles from home. Going 60 mph on an 80 mph interstate.
I called the dealer and left a message. I left for work early the next day since I had to drive slow and went straight to the dealer. I dropped it off and they gave me a ride to work. They called me later that day and said they don't know whats wrong with it but to bring it in and they will clear it every time.
I said I don't feel safe driving it and I need a loaner. They said they didn't have one so I left my car there and carpooled. They were willing for me to drive a vehicle that was unsafe! 80 miles a day!
A few days later they had a loaner, I picked it up. It was not an Acadia, it was a GMC Terrain, no third row seats, V4 and was over 10 years old. Not equal to my vehicle but I had to drive it or miss work. Fast forward 8 months later, EIGHT months later my car is ready to pick up.
During these 8 months I'm paying to drive a 2022 Acadia not a Terrain. GMC is unwilling to reimburse my car payments because I had an "equivalent" loaner. This is wrong. I had to plate my car 3 days after I got it back since I had it for a year when I only drove it for 4 months.
GMC I did not buy a terrain I bought an Acadia, I was told to drive an unsafe vehicle, I was also told by the dealer I would receive my payments back. GMC make this right, offering me 1 year of onstar does not make this right.
User's recommendation: Do not buy a GMC Acadia

Verified Reviewer | Kernersville, North CarolinaTransmission and A/C problems on my 2017 suburban
I have a 2017 Suburban with 98,116 miles. My transmission (6L80E) quit!
I reached out to Parks Chevrolet in Kernersville, NC. I spoke with warranty personnel and they advised my warranty had expired November 2022! I get the warranty expired but the transmission failure is a known issue and should be recalled. The Service Manager stated a new transmission installed would be around $8000.00.
I would be responsible 100% of the cost! I contacted GM and they advised me I should have asked for cost assistance and had a certified dealer to diagnose the issue! I had transmission rebuilt for $4500.00 about half the cost! A transmission should not go out with 98,000 miles on any vehicle and if it does the car maker should make it right!
The AC condenser cooler failed at the same time $800 repair! I have a 2011 Silverado 2500 HD 6.6 Diesel with 211,000 miles! Transmission and AC works fine. I have a 1993 Isuzu pickup with 224,000 miles and AC works perfectly!
Cant believe GM wont help.
Because I had a third party shop make repairs GM says they cant do anything for me. Lesson learned ask dealership for cost assistance, they wont offer it because dealerships are privately owned!

To summarize it for you the dealership owes me 5-10 grand. The so called manager of the dealership doesnt know how to return a phone call.
So a lady from corporate calls me says she will reach out to dealership and request them to call me. Nothing so now its been a month Ive been waiting for a check. GM corporate calls me again and lady says all she can do is request they call me so I ask if the dealership is screwing Gm customers and making them buy different makers of cars because their customer service is horrible GM is ok with this ??
She says no but its a franchise so I say but its got GM products and name on the building so with their lousy service GM loosing business and eventually hurts GMs bottom line. She says she sorry but nothing GM can do so my question is why does GM even have that department if they are totally worthless because the dealership just ignores them.
User's recommendation: Buy ford or Japanese. Stay away from GM

You must be young. Back in the day, most brands had the wheels start to fall off at almost exactly 50,000 miles by which time the warranty was history.
We didn't by new cars every 2-3 years for our vanity, but out of necessity ... yours already lasted twice that long.
I think they are jerking you around nonetheless. That repair price tag is obscene.
