Drivers side Seat Leans to the right,

I purchased this car 2 years ago and it only has 49,000 miles on it and now this happens, Upon entering the vehicle, the driver's side power seat collapsed, leaving the seat leaning backward and to the right. There appear to be broken frame welds on the right side where the up and down motor is located. As the seat is no longer attached to the frame, this is an extreme safety risk were there to be an accident. The weld on the seat broke and the seat leans right and back, very uncomfortable and a real safety hazard. SAD

General Motors - Fuel Pump Review from Wichita, Kansas

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Ready to trade my 2012 equinox in. Have you guys noticed a trend? A lot of these issues have been occurring on gm vehicles since early 2000s yet why haven't they fixed them?! My equonox has 41k miles and has had fuel pump, camshaft, timing chain replaced. The ecotec engine has been notoriously known for gms design flaw on the chains causing them to stretch for over a decade and they have ignored it. The equinoxes have been experiancing these fuel pump failures and annoying issues since the first gen release and that as well has been ignored! My equinox runs worse then my 1997 acura I traded it in for ! I'm now experiancing a very hard clunk/*** into 3rd gear after a sharp left turn. As well as a popping/clunk noise felt and heard on my steering wheel.it also nudges forward when I'm stopped at a light with my foot on the break. A lot of these issues have occurred on several gm makes for the last 15 years and they have ignored it. I've lost all trust in them it speaks a lot about your integrity as a company to ignore these on going issues and continue releasing new vehicles with the same problems.

General Motors - 2009 Chevrolet Traverse Review from Burnaby, British Columbia

Took my 2009 chevrolet traverse to brockville, ontario dealership after replacing my battery in March 2015. Was told numerous problems were discovered and covered under warranty and agreed to pay $300.00 for coil, plugs etc,. Since the engine was being pulled. Was contacted a few days later and told more problems found. I stated very clearly to service rep "Joe" you let Pandora out of the box, you put her back in" I brought the vehicle in running and expect it back in running condition. 2 weeks later I go in to pick up the vehicle and get an invoice for $1009.00 and was told the work had to be done to get it working. I DID NOT authorize anything beyond the $300. I paid it as they would not release the vehicle until paid in full! I want to be refunded the difference

2010 SS Camaro LS3 engine blew up

General Motors - 2010 SS Camaro LS3 engine blew up
General Motors - 2010 SS Camaro LS3 engine blew up - Image 2

My 2010 SS broke a valve spring while driving about 20MPH in a parking lot. This caused the valve to drop and the piston imploded, causing the rod to come out of the side of the engine. GM said "Owner Caused" and would not honor warranty. Three months later GM agreed to pay labor and parts but charged us $5,000.00 for the engine. After inspecting the old engine the rod was broke and the lifter actually took a lobe off the camshaft.

We have asked for our $$ back but all I can say it this is the last GM car my family will own. GM offers this 5 year 100K powertrain warranty and then will tell you "Owner Caused" What the heck does that mean. GM will not tell us and they will no call us. They hid behind the dealer who has told us that GM should replace the engine.

David took down Goliath with a tiny stone and soon I will start printing the DMA or should I say the Dumb A$% name on the internet.

GM your not fair and your employee is this case is killing a already damage company.

Obama Motors........I filed a complaint with the CEO yesterday and I'm betting that I will not get a response from her either. Also filed a North Carolina DOJ complainant. I refuse to allow companies like this to kick consumers in the teeth.

GM really does not care. They know they will get bailed out again when their company goes down the toilet.

well... I've driven chevys most of my life...

always wanted a '52 1/2 ton pu w/ a 292 six in it... but when they hid problems for ten years that killed people... took billions in bailout money(taxpayer money) filed bankruptcy... and stole a billion and a half...(unpaid taxpayer money) I decided then to never own(new or used) another chevy...

then I read...... they're investing 5 BILLION dollars in mexico.... ? go figure....

a great american company...

be american, buy american... if you can find anything made here....

Drew Lqu

This occurred in the Charlotte market so if you need warranty work go far away. This guy has no clue about the mechanics of an engine.

Obama Motors.........drive a Ford.

2012 Chevy Impala

I purchased my Impala in September 2012 with only 5 miles on it. Since I got this car, it has been nothing but problems. I have called and complained to GM so many times, but they don't resolve your problem. My car has a grinding sound in the wheel when I turn, the car smells damp, the muffler rattles, the lights tend to come on every now and then and my dash looks like a Christmas tree. Within the first 3 days of having the car, I had to drop it off for a paint job because it was defective. The paint started to come up. I complained to the dealership and they literally hid every time I would drop my car off. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

GM won't respond when their Saturn almost killed my daughter

Last Tgiving, five months ago, my daughter rolled and totaled her Saturn. She was doing nothing wrong and for some reason lost control, rolled the car and miraculously did not get killed. She was not texting, on the phone or speeding. I contacted Gm and they sent an inspector to see the car the first week of January. I actually spoke to the inspector, and he also said it was a miracle she wasn't killed. GM sent an inspector but I haven't heard a word since. They have become totally unresponsive. My father in law worked for GM 50 years, my brother in law 40 years. I have owned several GM cars. I am no longer a GM customer and they should be ashamed.

How do you know she did nothing wrong? To win any kind of lawsuit you'd have to be able to prove that, and what the car did to cause it.

GM Does Not Stand Behind There Products

We bought our 2007 GMC Envoy new and have had several major issues over 7 years that have cost me time and money. First the gear in the rear end broke a tooth off, that happened at about 45,000 miles and cost me at least $2000, then at about 60,000 miles the engine started consuming oil at a very high rate, had to go back and forth to the dealership multiple times over 6 months and the dealer at GM's direction trying multiple fixes that did not work, then finally they rebuilt the top half of the engine installing new pistons, rings etc. etc. they did cover this repair after multiple phone calls. Currently my Envoy, at 84,000 miles is back in the shop having to have a valve job done on the heads, new valves, rocker arms etc. Gm is of course saying that it couldn't be there fault and the are paying for any of it. There customer service is ridiculous. I estimate that over the last 15 years or so and 4 vehicles that GM has cost me approximately $15,000 because of there negligence that I should never have had to spend. I am done, I will sell my Envoy and I will never, ever, ever buy another GM vehicle. Furthermore I will do my best to let anyone and everyone know how screwed up this company is.

I too was screwed by GM more than once. Thats why I switched to Toyota 10 years ago.

Of course Toyotas and other brands are not perfect, but at least their vehicles are far superior to GM and Chrysler. They will never change. They dont have too, especially when the Feds bail them out when times get tough.

Wouldnt that be nice for millions of small businesses. Oh well, live and learn.

Chevy equinox problems

we bought the car from chevy of irvine dealer certified as they say and ever since only problems and issues with the car. After many recalls and trips to the service dept. the problem only gets worst and they did diagnostics on the car last week and they said there was not issues. the car keeps stalling during driving on the hwy at 65 miles per hr and just dies. it stalls at red lights and the heat stop working. the have replace my entire engine for a new one because they could not figure out the problem, it is still bad, it keeps getting worst and we went to the manager of chevy of irvine and tried to solve the issue but they dont want to help not even try to resolve taking the car back and giving us a working car which we are willing to finance again. we still owe money on the car and we cant sell because the car does not work. never buying a chevrolet again.

GM should have been allowed to fail

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I bought a Pontiac Solstice GXP, kept in maintained on schedule, and in the garage when not being driven. I've had nothing but problems, and the dealerships in my area break 2 things every time they fix 1.

I've had an engine light for months, and replaced part after part, even the line techs can't properly repair it. Save your money and buy a Honda. I'll never purchase a GM product again. In one case, to get a retaining clip ($1.00 part) replaced...wound up with 19 dents in the trunk of my car.

Had another dealership fix the radiator fan, got it back all the tire sensors were swapped to the diagonal side. Seriously, these people wouldn't know how to find their way out of a paper bag.

DEF system

I bought a new 2011 GMC 2500 HD it has only 28,000 miles on it now and has been serviced on a regular basis. I have a warning message flashing that I must service the DEF system now or my speed will be reduced....has anyone else out there had any problem's with their DEF system's? I have contacted the dealership where I bought the truck....but as of yet I have not heard any reply! I think it is odd that less than a year I'm receiving all these pop-up problem's with only 28,000 miles on the truck....I paid good money for this truck!!

2011 Equinox numerous repairs and trips for service other than normal. To numerous to mention "engine service light" warnings, engine needed torn apart, catalytic converter replacement, throttle body cleaning and throttle body replacement. the car left us set stranded twice. Required towing to the dealer for same complaint that it was in the shop for 3 weeks earlier. The dealer service manager couldn't say for sure that the car wouldn't break down again for the same service issue(Stabilitrak). His response was "cars break". My response was I bought another car, not GM. I own a 1996 Blazer, its the best car I ever had. We have had numerous GM vehicles in the past and never had any issues to remember. We were very patient with the Dealer when the Equinox required repairs. after a while I began to wonder. why is this car experiencing so many problems? After looking on line it seems to me many GM owners are having the same problems we are. Problems other than the one we see on nightly news. My last talk with the Dealer management (had 3) was all the aggravation I cold take. Bought another vehicle and traded the Equinox. And yes when the Blazer dies it will be the last GM I own.

General Motors - Car Review from Londonderry, New Hampshire

Bought a brand new 2012 equinox. Have had issues from the begining. my less than 3 yo car with less than 50k miles just had the engine rebuilt. ( pistons, rings, chains, valve stems etc.) Was told from GM repairs happen... seriously way to stand behind your product GM. Have consulted many mechanics along with an attorney who all agree it was a manufaturers defect and poor engine design that has caused all my issues. Now i have wasted over $23k and this car that isnt worth the less than $10k owed on the loan. Have been calling GM corporate office since March 4th and still no return call from my senior advisor "serena" as of today the 17th. After 31 phone calls i was told yesterday afternoon by a manager "sharena" that unfortunately serena was unavailable to speak with me because she was on another call. I stated i would appreciate a call back immediately when she was off the phone and the managers response was that it was almost 6pm and serena only works until 6. Again my call was not returned. I dont know if being arrogant and unprofessional is a job requirement at GM but if it is its the only thing you have done correctly. You should be embarrased at the people representing your company and product.
