General Motors in Wayne, Michigan - GM America Credit accussed me of completing a "straw" deal
I was called to verify my loan information and told them my sister would be driving my car. I get a call from the dealership saying they have to get the car back because asking did I buy my car for my sister. I have been sharing my sister's car for almost two years. I don't have a car financed in my name and she does. Why would I buy someone else a car when I don't even have my own. When the dealer contacted them with my sister's registration, they told them they didn't know that that was really my sister. My sister has the same address and last name as I do. Really!!!!
General Motors in Johannesburg, Gauteng - Vehicle booked for service, service not done.
On Thursday, the 20th January, I phoned in and booked my car in for a service, the lady who attended to my request ( who's name I did not get), made the booking for Monday the 24th and at the time asked me which service it would be needing, and I told her that it was the 75 000 km service , which I believe to be quite a major service, and my vehicle's mileage is currently on 77 000. SHe then asked if there was anything else I wanted done, and I asked her to please make a note that the badge on the front was missing as well as the left front wheel trim. I have taken a day off work, for convenience sake, and Tracy at the service desk, received my vehicile. Knowing that the cam belt service would be a higher cost than normal. I asked her to please call me with quotations for the extra before they go ahead with it, as I am trying working within a budget. At around 14h00 this afternoon, she did call me with the quotations, and before the end of the phone call I was informed that the service was in fact never booked, and that none of the work had as yet been done. She said that they would not be able to finish the work before the end of the day. I am now infuritated, as I now have to lose another day of work. Please appreciate that I dont work in an office, but use my car to service clients, and therfore without a vehicle, I cannot work. I have had several dealings with Executive Auto that leave me dissatisfied, and irrate...!!! And I believe that I am within my right to insist on a form of compensation for the loss of business.
General Motors in Washington, District Of Columbia - GM is screwing me over!
5 days ago was my 6th time replacing my rear differential. I have replaced my rear diff 5 times in 2 years and 4 days ago it is going to have to be replaced again. I have had 3 cases with GM personally and they give me the same run around again! At 3500 dollars a pop they should really take this matter more serious than they do. I am a private business owner looking to expand my truck line and they do not care. It all started 2 years ago when there was a recall on the rear diff. It had a whining sound when driving between 30-35 and again at around 60-68. I have had both left and right front wheel bearing replaced because they both where bad on top of 6 different rear diff's since than. I now have a GM tech involved to see if there are any more underlying problems so far. The only thing GM has offered to do is to try and keep fixing it with $350 dollars out of my pocket every time and or maybe giving me a 2k dollar credit towards a NEW GM vehicle only. I have over 6500 dollars left in this vehicle and with all the repairs I have had to pay. A total of 8500 invested in car payments. 2 thousand in warranty payments and at around $2100 in car rental and bills to fix my car. 2 thousand dollars towards a new car is no where near good enough! They need to fix my car or get me the same darn vehicle with no problems! I think it is about time to have my company and time go else where!
General Motors in Madison, Wisconsin - Slow to reinburse me for catalytic converter recall
My wife's dashboard light went on and stayed "on" and we took it in at the dealership to diagnose the problem. They said that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. We spend about $800 for the repairs. One month later it showed up on the recall list. We submitted the paperwork for reinbusrement and GM said it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get our money back. I called after 6 weeks into our wait, and the GM lost the paperwork, and now we must wait another 6 to 8 weeks after submitting "new" paperwork. To me, it is no wonder why General Motors filed for bankruptcy, they don't take care of their customers in a timely manner! I will "not" be purchasing another General Motors product.
General Motors in Chennai, Tamil Nadu - Chevrolet Car - Bad experience
Hi GM, GM is being refereed to one of the pioneer company in automotive industry. But after the experience I had with buying GM Chevrolet spark car, I would never suggest any friends in my circle to every try buying GM cars at least in India. 1. I booked a Chevrolet spark car (LS BS4) Chassis no MA6MF481MAT077376 and did a down payment of Rs 2 Lakhs and applied for loan from the Finance company with which Chevrolet dealer had tie up. The experience itself was horrifying. It took almost 8 days for them to facilitate the loan , which they had promised would be done in 3 days. After repeated reminders they came back and with a wrong loan amount and a wrong loan tenure. When I highlighted the same they said we need to process again and it will take time . Ultimately I have to shell out the remaining money from my pocket and the mental harassment was enormous. My pain never ended there… 2. To add to the above the sales guys started over committing and they were never able to deliver and meet any of the word they have promised. At night 10'clock on Jan 13 they had delivered the car which was supposed to arrive at 6:00 PM. To add to my pain when I inspected the car I found a big dent in the car roof and reported the same to them immediately. To my surprise I got a response – "You take the car and during first servicing we would address this." I didn't accept the same. After paying 3.5 lakhs I had invited big trouble. Ultimately I refused to sign any document and told them that they can take back the car. They were insisting that they would repair and deliver it , but I told them very clearly that I would not accept the car with same Chassis no. This experience has raised serious doubts about how GM is treating its customers. Or is it the dealer who is tarnishing GM's name? I am taking this pain to bring this to your notice hoping that corrective measures will be taken and I will receive the right product the I paid for. General Motors in Atascadero, California - Manufacture a defective cadillac on recall 4 times already
I purchased a new 2008 CTS cadillac in August 2008. Mind you, I only have 9000 miles on it, and already it's on it's fourth recall. How can GM get away with this. The latest recall is the heated windshield wiper fluid which they have to disconnect permanently and just reimbursing the customer a 100 dollars. The feature itself cost more. Another recall now being made is the ignition key. The car doesn't shut off. Another recall was my onstar, another recall was the driver door molding, had to be repaired because of water leakage. Tell me how can GM get away with all this. Never, ever will I buy another GM car
General Motors in San Jose, California - Gm corroded my battery terminals
Oh woe to me... I can't maintain a Chevy But I can walk around with a 3 propeller multi colored beanie and tell everybody what a superior nerdologist I must prove to be...Spoken like true Engineer. Check this out.I own a 1999 Chevrolet C/K 3500 (that would be pickup truck) and I was certain that the passlock security system shut down the vehicle and then would not allow it to move. So I spent about an hour to try and outsmart the passlock. The first thing I noticed was that the vehicle would start but not run and that the security light on dash was on.Ok must be something wrong with the key...just kidding. An investigation under the hood told the"hole" story. The connector from the negative terminal on the battery has a smaller gauge wire that runs to the fender. That wire was corroded on the terminal hole end at the fender rendering a low voltage condition to the fender. So, not wanting to spend any money which is why I own a Chevrolet in the first place, I removed the fastener, replaced the hole terminal, cleaned the hole for the screw to shiny metal and used a new screw and coated the connectors with dielectric grease. Result: Vehicle starts on first crank,test drove a half a tank of gas all over town taking up those pesky little parking spots. Service completed.

I am so unhappy with the 2010 equinox and GM. I have had 3 major electrical problems in 15 months! Just heard this morning about seatbelt recall. First trip to service 2 weeks in the shop. Second time, entire radio system had to be replaced. Third time told, we reset the system, if it happens again we will replace it. That problem was no RPM, no odometer reading, no lights, no turn signals, and no gas gage reading. What faith would you have in this vehicle? No one returns calls...they wont even give out the names of people to contact. Concerned about customer satisfaction...No! Concerned about quality....No! Should be sued for false advertising.
General Motors in Auburn, Indiana - 2005 Impala speedometer problems
It seems to me when everywhere I research the problems with the Chevy Impala it's the same thing. the interment clusters are defective and the consumer are left to pay!!!! the drive motors are defective on all the gauges and should be recalled. Also the transmission have problems as well. Someone need to help out the consumer. when will the authority's step in and do something to make them pay for what defective products they have sold. Its apparent that the agency that looks out for the consumer is not concerned with the average person! I have been a loyal GM peson for 30 years this will be the last one for me if something is not done.
General Motors in Chicago, Illinois - 2010 SRX.Brand new vehicle $53k, GM won't release parts to fix the sun shade.
I purchased a 2010 SRX Cadillac, fully loaded in Oct 2010 from Heritage Cadillac in Lombard, IL. There have been 5 recalls on the car thus far! There is a grinding noise in the steering column that GM doesn't have fix for yet. Also, vehicle has been in for sun shade repair for 10 days. GM will not release parts needed for fix. Paying for a car I can't drive! I have escalated the complaint directly to GM's Hotline 800-458-8006. Waiting for some satisfaction. Very disturbing that a brand new car has these issues. Thanks alot GM.
