General Motors in Wentzville, Missouri - GM killed the EV

Has everybody seen the movie who killed the electric car?You should all watch it and see what GM had and what they did with it.It'll make you like me upset with GM,it was the perfect electric car no gas engine at all perfect for commuters but they got greedy and sold the tecnoligy to big oil company and crushed all but one EV but they destroyed all the batteries. Now they come up with the Volt a electric car with a gas motor to charge the batteries that kinda defeats the purpose of an all electric car I've been a GM buyer all my life until now I'll buy Ford from now on.They didn't take bailout money.

General Motors in Saint George, Utah - Chevy HHR Door handle is ***

My interior driver side door handle broke under normal use. It's my wifes car. So I got the "What did you do". I told her I didn't do anything but try to open the door. I could tell she didn't believe me. Today while trying to find a relacement I found out I am one of many people this has happened to. I wonder what would happen if someone had to get out of there car in a hurry. If your car caught on fire and you panic and pull that handle to hard your in a lot of trouble. If it's a ele. fire you can't even roll the window down. But I can deal with that, what I can't understand is why didn't they make it simple to replace? Why do I have to replace the whole door panel? Is Chevy trying to make up there losses this way?

General Motors sucks! Never again!!!

I bought Chevy assuming that it was an American company and after having trouble with it and trying to reconcile with GM customer support line I found out that they send all their complaints to representatives in the Phillipenes and Argentina!!! Lets get one thing straight, America has a huge unemployment rate!!! WTF??? I am mad not only that my problem is not rectified but also at the fact that GM is passing work to people out of our country! I will never buy GM again, and I'm stuck driving and paying for a shitbox Silverado! I should have just went Toyota, which was my gut feeling.

General Motors in Dallas, Texas - GM. Treated me with disrespect and don't care about employees.

I work for general motors and was trying to deliver parts to people on the line building cars the way that were suposed to and i could'nt do it because there was to much work on the job. My boss came and told me " You don't go home till you pull 7 carts" everyone else can but you. Everyone else does it wrong. Their not doing it by the job element standards that the union and management set up (GMS Standards) which I am. well I was cussed at, treated like dirt in front of other management and never asked why or what we could do to help this problem. All that mattered was that the parts were delivered so the cars could get built. GM does not care about anyone but them selves. Iv'e worked for GM for 15yrs and It's the worst atmosphere and management I have ever experienced in my life. No concideration for anyone. It doesn't matter how bad your situation is or what has happened, that car will get built one way or another. I will never buy another GM vehical ever again in my life and urge you to do the same. They treat us like slime. GM is just another sweat shop with no union to back you up anymore. very disappointed GM worker...........

General Motors in Atlanta, Georgia - 2001 Suburban 2.5 yr old a/c compressor shreds

Dealer installed new a/c compressor May, 2008. Oct. 2010 Heard metal to metal noise and engine died. A/C compressor frozen up. Local dealer honored the lifetime warranty, still cost me $290.00 for new belt, filter, Mgr then stated he could not get the lines clear of metal fragments from old compressor. Metal had gotten into the condensor and accumulator. These parts would not be covered under warranty although the faulty compressor had cause damage. Wanted another $600.00 to fix. Did not address if this would also affect the rear air. Guess that would be another repair job and more money. GM refused to do anything about this. They were cooperating until they found out my mileage was 210,000+. Although my 2001 Suburban is in excellent condition. Out $290.00 and no a/c and I live in Central Florida.

General Motors in Spring Valley, New York - Leased my 981/2 year old father a 48 month lease.

In November of 2010, my father went to schumacher chevrolet in palm lakes Florida and needed to lease a car. he wanted a 2 year lease for about $300. per month. The sales man leased him a Malibu for, amzingly enoough, $299.75/ month for 48 months. He told my father that if he died it couold be turned in. Well he is now living in assisted living with no need for the car and GM wants $22,500 to walk away with the car [more than the sale price one year ago]. Who would lease a 98 1/2 year old man a 4 year lease other than an unethical, inconsiderate salesman. I am done with GM and find it disappointing that a representative of GM would do this. Even GMAC [Ally] stated to me that this was unethical. bjsdco@aol.com

General Motors in Charleston, South Carolina - I need my money back!!!!!!

I purchased A 2001 Oldsmobile Alero. My First mistake. Second mistake is I kept it. Since then I've replaced the engine twice, replaced the hazard switch, the rear passenger side door doesn't shut properly, the dome light has fallen out, replaced the fuel pump, and now the engine is knocking when the car comes to a stop, knocking not tapping. The bad thing about this is GM knows about the cars. They should take them off the road. The only problem is, they are making to much money on replacement parts. So I'm getting riped off again. I just wont my money Back!!!!!!

I did a background check on the model you are refering to, and your comments on the model are close to slanderous. While the model has issues, none of the problems you bring up are consistent with known design issues (new or used). You have either bought a lemon, you keep going to a bad dealership, or you are mistreating the vehicle.

General Motors in Enon, Ohio - 2004 chevrolet cavalieris a piece of ***

I bought a used 2004 cavalier in 2005. It less than 30,000 miles. I now have 89,000 miles. The first year I owned it, the front defroster and back defroster went out in the midst of a ice storm along with the wiper motor. The next year the speaker on the driver side went out. The warning bells rarely work. The break pads wear out yearly. The front dash by the window cracked in half. Now I have an engine problem. The oil keeps disapearing. The are no oil spots where I park my car. I put in 2-4 quarts a week. My daughter bought the same model on the same day that I did. She started having trouble about the same time I did. Now her engine is blown. That is what I have to look forward to. We are poor. This economy is not helping. I just finished LPN school. I had to pay for a large portion out of pocket on a nurse's aid wages. I am behind on my bills and struggling to catch up. I am not able to find a fulltime job as a nurse. I feel like I am drowning and now I have this to deal with. I have checked around and have heard that this year car and motor has had this issue. No recalls. My credit is shot and without a permanent job I cannot get another car. I am pissed.

@Megalew2000:

I am having the exact same issue. Not with the oil...my engine suffered a 'catastrophic engine failure' for no reason whatsoever. My dad was an auto mechanic; I religiously change the oil and check it weekly. I also do appropriately timed maintenance on the spark plugs, wires, etc. But now, at 74k mi, the engine mysteriously stopped worked- to such a degree that every single piston and caliper is either bent or broken (thus the 'catastrophic'). I filed a complaint with corporate and they offered me a 25% "discount" on replacing the engine which ended up being quoted at $1300 MORE than what the dealer had originally quoted me to install a brand new engine! So, don't give up hope.

@Dave- based on above, do you still think it is an 'overfilling' problem? Because I seriously doubt it. Nor was it caused by a made-up "over-revving condition", when the car has never even approached the red line (it is an automatic). Also, it was purring like a kitten that morning, and exploded that afternoon. I am fed up with GM. US citizens still 'own' part of the company via the government. My complaints will spread far and wide from GM to the Office of the President, NHTSA, BBB, and whatever other acronyms I can think of until this issue is resolved. If you wonder why we don't buy American made cars, this is it: They are unreliable, and the manufacturers of said cars refuse to stand behind their product. Probably because they know it is worthless.

Megalew2000, I wish you the best of luck in getting this resolved.

Are you sure you are not overfilling that engine with oil which could cause serious damage? As far as I know that model year Cavalier has a 2.2L Ecotec engine that is very durable.

The maximum oil capacity is 5 quarts and you are putting in 2 - 4 quarts a week? I know that engine has a *** dipstick that is hard to read. The best way to make sure it's not overfilled is to drain the oil and fill up with 5 quarts maximum.

But I think it's too late now. The engine has major damage I suspect from overfilling.
