General Motors in Los Angeles, California - I purchased a 2003 9-3 Arc SAAB on June 18, 20015.

2.0
Details
Hello. I have read that SAAB is now owned by GM and my frustration has to be vented so forgive me if this is the incorrect place to write this. I owned a SAAB in my youth and we thought it would be a good fit for our daughter who is away at college. It was purchased used from SAAB & RAFFI on 6/18/2015. We were referred from a friend who advised we could trust the owner of the company. We were tired and the car looked decent. It was clearly damaged in the front but able to drive. On our test drive we noticed it was rough, we were told. "That's the way these cars drive." The steering was very loose....."don't worry I can take care of it." We mentioned several items. We soon realized.... I'll take care of it meant." we paid more money. We purchased it for $3000.00, plus the items we felt needed to make it safe. Winshield, shifter, smog for an additional fee of $491.00. Overall we complained about, rough ride, transmission slipping, steering loose oil leaks and the constant engine light coming on. He would take the car to the side with a little machine, go under the dash and then the light was gone. He would say, "don't worry, I'll take care of it." I drove the car when my daughter went back to school the wheels felt wobley..I took it to another tire place. He stated the arms were damaged and need to be replaced. I called Raffi, he said bring it in, I'll fix it. Both arms were replaced. It cost us. $603.00. Yet another day of driving and the "car took off." Scared me to no end. I mentioned to my daughter, she stated it did the same to her. So I did what I should have done in the first place and took it to my old SAAB mechanic. HARRY/SAAB on Labrea in Los Angeles. He looked at the car and said, "This car is unsafe to drive. It needs a transmission, transmission cooler line, sway bar links, and oil level sensor. Cost $4,000.00. Is there anything that can be done? We feel deflated. We acted on trust of a friend to a friend. Raffi even said, "This is the car I would get for my daughter's first car." We won't be returning to Raffi. But I do think he should pay for a transmission. We are pondering th California Lemon Law. I have a call into an attorney. The car has been sitting in our drive way leaking oil. We are grateful for any assistance or response. Sincerely, Mrs. Robinson 3237333953 fergg7853@gmail.com

General Motors in Los Angeles, California - HHR braking rattle

So much for buying American. On going problem with shaking car while braking I am almost sure the car will fall apart soon. This is a serious problem yet they refuse to fix or recall. I have replaced the rotors and brakes and problem returns. I would have to say it a problem with the design. Take it to the dealer and they act like you are crazy and dont know what you are talking about. This issue needs to be fixed as it could cause some serious accidents. How do you sale a car with a known problem? Guess stuck with it for now.

General Motors in Los Angeles, California - GM tailgate latch defective

The tailgate latch breaks on all of the trucks. I am on my fourth truck and my cousin has the same thing happen as well. The tailate latch has a plastic piece that breaks after use. I have had four trucks and all have had the same part break. I asked the dealer about it and "it is the first I have heard of it" LIE!. I see many trucks driving around with the same part broken. The part 88981030 clip is $ 6.72 at the dealer at the auto parts store or to make one youself would be $.05. I would like others with the same broken part to contact me. Please include the year and make of truck. hbdiver@yahoo.com

General Motors in Los Angeles, California - Unable to provide a code for my vehicle

I was being charged $50+ to have a dealer get me a passcode for my radio to work. I have the scrambled code and VIN; I also know how to imput the code, I just don't have it. Dealers are trying to make me pay to have a "technichian" take a look at it when its as simple as contacting GM for the code. I just need the code to get my radio to work, I don't see why I must pay someone x amount of money for literally just making a five min phone call and getting me four #s.

I Have a 2003 chevrolet Avalanche with a 5.3L vortec engine with 70,000 miles that was well maintained but it has cracked heads. I called general motors for assistance on this issue. but they denied my claim. After researching this problem I found that other consumers were having the same exact problem. General Motors in Los Angeles, California - 2004 GMC Duramax Diesel Emissions Defects $680.46 for mass air flow sensor for egr valve error code

Egr error codes come up told it's the mass air sensor causing it, Cost to install mass air flow sensor $680.46 does not guarantee the egr valves are ok. wont know till codes are erased and reset. OUT of warranty technically by 15 days.but not by mileage of 100k for california duramax diesel emmisions warranty(97320) GM states too bad warranty up. I think GM is grossly negligent in its part to curb emmissions. Should i notify the public via my tailgate expressing my concern, GM now has a higher than thou attitude now that they paid there governmnet loan back. Dont buy a GM product as i have fought with this one since new, steering column still knocks..imagine that..parking brake still might lock up after towing...

General Motors in Los Angeles, California - GM ruined Saab good name

Is it just me, or does anyone else think when GM bought Saab in 1989, it ruined a good product? They turned a unique Swedish car into an ugly american car. GM from the start changed the body style to appeal to a bigger american market. The problem with that is, SAAB loyalist (myself included) loved the original body style. Now that GM is trying to rebuild itself they unload the first product that the company has no product loyalty towards. I find it appaulling! They should not have bought the company in the first place. My first car was a Saab, '85 900S (pre GM, thank god). I hope they can find a suitable buyer for the company and bring it back to its wonderful luster of past years.

AMEN... ...too bad it looks like the mighty GM (read: General Malaise) has finally killed SAAB.

I am sad, however at least this will end the 20 year torture of such a wonderful marque.
