My 2014 2500HD has been in the shop for over two months waiting to be repaired for warranty work and now the dealer is telling me it will be mid-March until the part is available. I took the truck in on November 5th 2017 with a check engine light on.

What good is a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty if GM doesn't have the parts available to fix the problem.

If it's truly mid-March for the part availability that will be about 4 1/2 months at the dealer waiting for it to be fixed. Will I have another 4 1/2 months added to my 5 year warrant for the time I was not able to drive it?

Just saw your post. What part were you waiting for? We have been waiting for one month for a transmission control module for our 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500 with NO commitment as to when the part will arrive!
