General Motors - Warranty will not cover busted Engine
9/15/17- Purchased 2014 Chevy Equinox, also paid $2500 for an extended warranty with CNA National 7/18/18- Vehicle just shut off while driving for maybe 10 minutes. It felt as if the battery had died. Please note I had no other issues prior to this with the vehicle....

General Motors - GM Warranty

I bought a 2015 Silverado brand new. just over 3500 miles the BCM shorted out because of a pinched wire in the courtesy light system. The wire was pinched AT THE FACTORY when the right hand sun visor was installed. The dealer had the truck over a month and when I picked it up I was charged $800 dollars and told it was not a warranty issue. SERIOUSLY??? NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE??? 3500 MILES??? I took this matter clear up to GM Corporate just to be told that they were sorry but there is nothing they could do. In order to be called a "warranty" wouldn't it need to be something they will honor?

I purchased my 2010 Chevy Camaro in August of 2009. Since then, I have had to replace one catalytic converter, the throttle body and related wiring harness and the timing chains at about 35,000 miles. The timing chains are now failing again at about 70,000 miles. GM...

I'm also having the timing chain stretch issue on my 2010 camaro. This IS CLEARLY a design flaw.

Many, many others are suffering with this GM failure. Class action law suit needed.

We presently own an 06 Pontiac Pursuit with 41000 KM on it. It has always been a lightly used garage queen that is driven by a middle aged lady who is the first owner. We have experienced a rattle in the front steering column and have replaced several front end parts...

I couldn't agree more. General Motors are engineering their vehicles downward, so that they're garbage after a few short miles (or years).

I'm with you - buy a vehicle from a different manufacturer.

Someone who values their customers and their reputation.

Obviously GM doesn't value either.

I had a gmc sierra slt piece of *** that in the 7 yrs I had it it had some 25000 dollars worth of warranty work as well as 4000 dollars of other than warranty work, got half the fuel mileage promised with 4% of all miles going to shop for warranty. My time, my 800 dollars in extra oil between changes .I have been a gm person for my entire life of 62 years and will never give that company one more dime or a second more of my time. Gmc trucks SUCK plain and simple ........all this in just 63000 miles

General Motors in Westminster, Maryland - Refused to honor new car warranty, extortion

I had a whining noise in my 2010 Buick. I discussed this with Heritage Buick,11234 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills Md. 21117 on four occasions. They refused to honor the warranty. In addition they would not return my unrepaired auto unless I gave them $500. I think this is extortion! The General Motors area rep.was informed and so was Buick customer service. They were of no help. A Heritage owner listened to my complaint and still wanted the $500. I would encourage all potential customers to steer clear of all Heritage Mile One dealerships. General Motors seems to automatically support dealerships even when they are completely in the wrong.

General Motors in Roseville, Minnesota - Repairs to Saturn Outlook

I own a 2008 Outlook XR, with 128,000 miles. Ten months ago I spent $4,200 on a new transmission. Today I get in the mail another recall letter related to the engine. It states in the letter that the repair is under warranty if under 120,000 miles. I am 8,000 miles over 120,000, so I will have to pay for that as well!! Today I am told by my Tech that the Timing Chain needs replacing, to the cost of $3,000. The Technician said I might need a new engine since the timing chain needs replacing. Cost for a new engine $7,000 to $8,000. Im speechless! I'm potentially looking at a total cost of $11,000. The Interior/Exterior of my auto is in impeccable condition, because that's my Responsibility. There have been 6 Recalls on this Outlook, two that I could not claim, so I had to pay for those repairs myself. With general maintenance costs and upkeep like tires, I will have paid an additional $18,000 more than what I paid for the Outlook. I'm appalled, GM should be ashamed. This is not fair to someone who buys GM autos. It's well known the GM Lambda platform did not work out well for GM during those years...That is GM's Responsibility. I will be blunt but remain calm. What is GM going to do for me with regards to these upcoming Cost. I believe that asking GM to pick up the cost of the Timing Chain/Engine repair, is more than fair. I'm so upset that this is happening to me and my family. Thank you for your time. Todd Cummings 651-245-9439

General Motors in Saint Petersburg, Florida - 2004 Grand Am Dash curling

When this first occurred my car was under warranty and they fixed it. Now that it is out of warranty I was told it was customer misuse. In other words its my fault. It was not my fault under warranty but is now. Go figure. No wonder they stopped making the Gran Am line of automobiles. Just for information, I have had these repairs also: two fuel pumps, all four electric windows repaired (some twice), windshield wipers were sticking not moving, rear section light assembly leaked water and had to be replaced, radio digital display went out, outside molding around windshield replace for curling. No more GM cars for me.
