General Motors - Warranty Review from Ottawa, Ontario

1.0
Details
I have a 2010 gmc acadia with power steering issues. The pump works intermittingly. There is a U.S. class action because of this problem. GM has issued a special warranty to replace the pump. I took the vehicle to get the pump replaced but dealer said the steering rack was leaking and needed replacement for $1,700. Wouldn't fix the pump under warranty unless I paid for a new rack. I didn't get it done and added some fluid to the reservoir. One month later the reservoir is still full and steering problems pesist hence this is not a leaking rack issue. Went back to GM dealer and told them about this and was told that GM would not replace pump unless I paid for rack even though it isn't leaking. I offered to sign waiver for future pump failure. GM said no. This is a design defect or flaw and GM doesn't care. No more gm cars for me.

What the *** does this even mean? What are you talking about?

How could anyone draw any conclusion from your post?

Why don't you explain the situation so those of us with knowledge of GM technical and warranty information could offer either a plan of action or a possible solution. We need more info.

General Motors in Jackson, Michigan - Shifter Problem 2011 GMC Acadia

2.5
Details
The last 2 or 3 times I’ve had my Acadia in to Jim Winter Buick (recalls, oil changes, and replacement of fog lights), I have asked them to have a mechanic take a look at the shifter mechanism, which is not smooth, and hangs up on the plastic, and does not show the correct gear selection. However, no one has looked at it either time. I don’t even think they bothered to record it on my service paperwork. I’m not sure why the service persons omitted it from my copy. I feel that at the very least, they could have spared a few minutes for a mechanic to look at this potential serious issue. My car was there at least twice, maybe 3 times. They also should have explained to me what options I have to appeal to General Motors, or how to contact them to possibly cover this problem under warranty.

I too have three door handles ready to fall off my 2009 Escalade. I wrote a letter to the Chairman of GM and President of Cadillac, but after talking with them they said they would not repair my faulty handles.

I'm not about to pay $800 or more so i can get into my car. I have a friend that's had to replace his on his 2014 GM Yukon so he's going to teach me how to do it. I will never, ever buy another GM product again.

They are trash and GM knows it. Back to Lexus for me once I can get out from under this money pit.

General Motors in Lone Tree, Colorado - $65,000 ISN'T ENOUGH TO "ESTABLISH A RELATIONSHIP" WITH GM !!!

I own a 2011 GMC 2500HD Duramax Denali. Last month the engine started to stall while driving, my gauges went haywire, and the check engine light came on. I promptly took it to the GO GMC AUTONATION dealer in Lonetree, Colorado - where I bought the vehicle. After having it for several days they found a wire that had rubbed through in the engine causing the problem. They found it after read a GM Service Bulletin on other vehicles with the same problem. My truck had 53K miles so it was out of bumper to bumper warranty, but within powertrain warranty. Of course they charged me a couple hundred $$ to fix their bad wiring. I talked to the general manager of the dealership and his pompously told me that since I didn't get all my oil changes done there (I do my own like many other able-bodied people) he wouldn't cover the repair cost. He would have covered it if I spent thousands of $$ on diesel oil changes at his dealership but I had not "established a relationship" with his dealership so I was out of luck. APPARENTLY BUYING THE MOST EXPENSIVE VEHICLE ($65,000 sticker) ON THEIR LOT DOESN'T ESTABLISH A RELATIONSHIP WITH GMC!! After feeling extorted by the dealer I filed a complaint with GM. After pages of e-mails, hours on the phone, all I got was lip-service and a "sorry". WHAT A JOKE! I own a successful business and I would never treat my customers this way. My family has bought GM trucks since they were around. My company only buys GM trucks since it has been around. NOT ANYMORE!!! I will not pass this brand loyalty on to my son, as has been done to me. My company will not buy a GM vehicle ever again nor will my family. GM can have the $200 bucks I paid because that will translate into a loss of hundreds of thousands of $$ in vehicles that wont be sold to me or anyone I know.
