I purchased my 2010 Chevy Camaro in August of 2009. Since then, I have had to replace one catalytic converter, the throttle body and related wiring harness and the timing chains at about 35,000 miles. The timing chains are now failing again at about 70,000 miles. GM...

I'm also having the timing chain stretch issue on my 2010 camaro. This IS CLEARLY a design flaw.

Many, many others are suffering with this GM failure. Class action law suit needed.

General Motors in Chicago, Illinois - Experience of owning a 2010 Equinox

i can relate to your story. I bought a brand new equinox in 2010. It stalled on me at red lights many times. The break was vibrating hard. the dealership first told me it is the fuel pump related issues and replaced the same. but the car was still running rough. after several visits, the dealership replaced the engine. I found out that the dealership had gotten 30+ engines from GM. Though there was no 'recall' it was akin to an official recall. Now last week the transmission failed. its is in a dealership in GA as i write this. Its warranty period is over. and the charges come to $4500.00. This sucks. It was the first time for me to buy a Gm car. It has been a very bad experience. NO more GM cars for me.

General Motors - Buick Enclave Review from Chicago, Illinois

Never do anything like this, but if it saves someone going through the pain my family has, it is worth it. DO NOT PURCHASE A BUICK ENCLAVE. We were so proud of ours when we bought it, but have been so disappointed. Nothing but issues. Started with cracked transmission gear (which they DID fix). Then the front end issues began. Popping and rattling in the front end. Took it in and paid to have it fixed. Caused uneven wear on tires and had to replace those (and 17"tires aren't cheap). Since then, have had front end done 4X!!! Finally a mechanic friend of the family told me to Google (Buick Enclave front end issues) and could not believe what I found. Evidently there are known issues that Buick has decided NOT to stand behind. Several of the complaints said that there repairs usually lasted 3k-5k miles and then came right back (at $1k-$2.5k a pop). Why do I still have it you ask? Because this issue is so known that the dealers I would like to trade with(definitely not Buick), comment on the issues. Don't take my word for it, Google it for yourselves!

General Motors in Chicago, Illinois - Safety Concerns...

1.0
Details
I purchased a 2012 Malibu LT in January of 2012. Since the purchase, I have been to the service department at least 8-12 times for various malfunctions with the car. Last my daughter was driving us home from my mom's house when I heard a loud knocking noise. I looked over and saw the check engine light was on. I immediately called the dealership (whom by the way has been excellent) and they told me to bring the car in asap. Long story short, they told me that they alternator was gone, the water pump was gone, 2 solenoid switches had to be replaced, 2 generators in the rotors had to be replaced, and there a recall on the brake lamp. I called GM to inform them that I don't feel safe driving this car let alone my 16 yr old daughter driving the car. They seemed uninterested in the fact that now I'm still hearing a loud rattling noise coming from under the hood. The car only has 34,778 miles on it. Long story short, after talking to GM back & fourth, they want to extend the warranty on the vehicle as opposed to being proactive and trading me out of the vehicle. In the event that something else goes wrong with the car and my daughter is driving, they would prefer a million dollar lawsuit rather than just paying the difference to get me out of this vehicle. The service manager at GM suggested that I let my 16 yr ride the bus to and from school. I was insulted and pissed because I brought the car so that my daughter wouldn't endure all of the violence that is occurring in Chicago. Can you say unsatisfied customer but I will NEVER be buying another GM product. I am in touch with an attorney.

General Motors in Chicago, Illinois - Misrepresentation and fraud

I have bought 2 GM vehicles before and was pretty pleased with the service. I went to Currie Motors in Forest Park, Illinois thinking I might be treated fairly as a 3rd time returning customer. As it turns out the Salesman was so hawkish he refused to give me the trade-in value on my car, even after I asked for it a dozen times. He then proceeded to assign me insurance that didn't even protect the vehicle. I drove off the lot in a brand new car that was uninsured, but was told it was insured. I found this out weeks later when I began to investigate insurance rates on my own. I had entered to an agreement based on a specific number and we shook hands on this number. As I got into the credit managers office, he began to try and strong arm me into an agreement that was about 5% higher in a monthly payment than we had agreed. I had asked this is not what we agreed to he pushed the contract over and said take it or leave it basically. I that point I probably should of walked out but I wanted to finalize the deal so I went a head. After complaining I was approached by the service manager who told me once you get that survey, we'll take care of you. In fact he told me that to "right the wrong" he would give me a two year service contract giving me free oil changes, etc. I never received the survey from GM so they quickly retracted there offerings to me for the lousy way thru treated a 3rd time customer. No service contract, no return phone calls. All for a 3rd time customer who comes back to purchase a car from the same place.

General Motors in Chicago, Illinois - 2010 SRX.Brand new vehicle $53k, GM won't release parts to fix the sun shade.

I purchased a 2010 SRX Cadillac, fully loaded in Oct 2010 from Heritage Cadillac in Lombard, IL. There have been 5 recalls on the car thus far! There is a grinding noise in the steering column that GM doesn't have fix for yet. Also, vehicle has been in for sun shade repair for 10 days. GM will not release parts needed for fix. Paying for a car I can't drive! I have escalated the complaint directly to GM's Hotline 800-458-8006. Waiting for some satisfaction. Very disturbing that a brand new car has these issues. Thanks alot GM.

This is one of the major problems we have had with our vehicle..we bought it brand new..this problem has been fixed twice and started again yesterday. This vehicle had to go to the shop only a week after we bought it..it is the SRX4 and a month ago the same problem happened.

Customer Service is awful with GM..they are from overseas and are rude. My last time to purchase an American vehicle.

I ahve the exact same problem...Grinding noise when you turn the wheel. I have been waiting for 4 months now for a fix.

Talked to GM.

Nothing they can do. I am very upset that I paid all this money for a car that drives like a $12,000 vehicle.

General Motors in Chicago, Illinois - Transmision Problem

2009 GMC Crew Cab, transmission went out three months after purchase brand new. Took it in to shawheen Motors, they installed a remanufactured transmission instead of a new one, I am a Auto Technician, this transmission still has problems. After numerous times taking it in they can't find the problem. Now just because I own it they don't care. Their advise was to reported to lemonlaw. Is this the kind of treatment u get after taking your money. Mt.pleasant, Mi....My advice don't buy it all out, fiance part of it so they have to fix it. Good luck to everyone.

General Motors in Chicago, Illinois - Refused to Refund For Engine Fire and Total Loss

I received a recall notice from General Motors on or about April of 2008 (Recall # 07035 for an Engine Compartment Fire). I took the recall notice to my mechanic. My mechanic informed me that the repairs listed on the recall had already been completed on February 1,2008. I sent the receipt to the reinbursement dept. of General Motors. General Motors sent a small refund for the repair only. On August 5, of 2008, despite the approved and refunded repairs, the car had an Engine Compartment Fire. General Motors refused to give any refund of any amount. I was told by GM that Breach of Warranty Statute of Limitation in Indiana is six from the original date of purchase. I was told that the time had expired for me to receive a refund. Is this the way General Motors treats their Disabled American Veterans? Tracy Brown
